Capcom apparently has bigger plans for Resident Evil Requiem’s story DLC than a quick cash-in expansion, but you’ll be waiting a while to actually play it.
According to a fresh round of posts from insider Dusk Golem on X, Capcom is investing in “more lengthy story DLC” for Requiem, and the whole team is currently “all hands on deck” finishing the Code Veronica remake first. That’s reportedly targeted for Q1 2027, with a Q2 buffer if things slip, which they usually do. Only once Veronica’s out the door does the Requiem DLC properly get worked on.

Why the wait for Requiem DLC might actually be worth it
There’s a logic to the wait. Golem claims these lengthier DLCs are Capcom’s answer to what to do with the RE Engine spin-off slot once filled by Revelations and The Chronicles, essentially smaller, more experimental “side stories” that keep players occupied between mainline releases. It’s also apparently a direct response to Requiem feedback, meaning Capcom wants to swing bigger this time instead of bolting on a token epilogue.
Golem adds the DLC format lets Capcom “be more responsive to fan desires” and test bigger ideas without disrupting the main project pipeline. Sensible, if true, though it does mean Requiem players are stuck twiddling their thumbs until Veronica’s remake wraps.

None of this is confirmed by Capcom, so treat the timeline as a rough sketch rather than a release date. Still, if the Code Veronica remake really is the gate this DLC’s stuck behind, don’t expect to be back in RE9’s world any time soon.
