After a fairly quiet few months, PlayStation has finally locked in its next big showcase. And this time, Marvel’s Wolverine is taking centre stage.
Sony confirmed that the next PlayStation State of Play will air on June 2, featuring a one-hour presentation focused on upcoming PS5 titles. The headline attraction is an extended look at Marvel’s Wolverine, which has quickly become one of the platform’s most anticipated exclusives.
Marvel’s Wolverine is expected to get a deeper gameplay reveal
The last time fans saw Marvel’s Wolverine during a State of Play was back in 2025. That trailer delivered plenty of cinematic action, but actual gameplay details were kept tightly under wraps.
This upcoming showcase sounds different.
PlayStation says the event will include a closer look at the game as its release date draws nearer. While Sony has not confirmed exactly what will be shown, expectations are naturally leaning towards gameplay systems, combat mechanics, exploration, and perhaps even story details.

That alone would make this one of the biggest State of Play events in recent memory.
More PS5 announcements are also expected
Outside of Marvel’s Wolverine, Sony says there will be additional updates and reveals for other PS5 games during the broadcast. As usual, PlayStation is keeping most of its cards hidden until the show begins.
The event starts at 2 PM PT, 5 PM ET, 11 PM CEST, and 6 AM JST.
