Rockstar reveals GTA 6 cover art, sets pre-order Date for June 25

GTA 6 - Cover Art

Rockstar Games has done what Rockstar does best, dropping a major announcement with almost no warning. Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto 6 open on June 25, the studio confirmed, covering both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Alongside the news came the official box art, instantly recognisable as part of the same visual lineage as every GTA cover before it.

Still no price confirmed

What’s missing is the actual price tag. Rumours have swirled for months that Take-Two could push GTA 6 past the traditional $70 mark, possibly making it the first major release to hit $100 for a standard edition.

Take-Two has repeatedly declined to confirm pricing on investor calls, and Strauss Zelnick offered only a vague line about charging “way, way, way less” than the value delivered. Pre-orders going live next week should finally settle the question. One thing’s already certain, though: it won’t be 16p, as it briefly was when a listing error hit the PlayStation Store.

A long road to launch

GTA 6 was first revealed in December 2023, with its trailer becoming the most-watched non-music video on YouTube within 12 hours. Two delays later, the game now lands on November 19, 2026, a date Zelnick reaffirmed in February.

Vice City returns as part of the wider state of Leonida, with protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos leading a satirical take on modern Florida excess.

GTA 6 PC version remains unconfirmed, though Rockstar’s usual pattern suggests one could follow in 2027 or 2028.
