Two million copies in seven days is the kind of number most early access games would kill for, and WARDOGS has just walked in and grabbed it without breaking a sweat.
BULKHEAD and Team 17 launched the all-out warfare FPS on September 10, and the numbers only went up from there. The game shifted over 1.25 million copies on day one alone, then added another 750,000 in the four days after, according to the official WARDOGS X account, and lads, that’s not a slow build; that’s a sprint.

Why is WARDOGS sprinting while other shooters can’t even walk?
Well, it’s a simple pitch here: up to 100 players, three teams, and a King of the Hill-style scramble over randomised 2x2km Control Zones. Everyone starts with $10,000 to kit out a custom loadout each life, and you can top that up by reviving squadmates, running friendlies to the zone, or holding the objective. Add in destruction mechanics that let you level an apartment block with a rocket launcher or a tank, and you’ve got a sandbox that rewards both chaos and tactics.
A console release is already locked in for 2028, which is a long wait, but it’s also a clear sign BULKHEAD and Team 17 are building for the long haul rather than cashing out on early access hype.

Two million sales before the game’s even finished is a hell of a foundation. Whatever they do with the roadmap from here, they’ve already won the hardest part: getting people through the door.
