Resident Evil Veronica Remake may be delayed to fall 2027

Resident Evil Veronica fans might need to sit tight a bit longer. The Code Veronica remake looked like a shoo-in for early 2027, but a fresh rumour says otherwise.

Dusk Golem hears the same thing from three sources

Horror leaker Dusk Golem, usually reliable on all things Resident Evil, says they’ve now heard from three separate people that Veronica has a “high chance” of slipping to Fall 2027. They haven’t heard it firsthand, so it’s not gospel, but they say they’re starting to believe it.

Dusk Golem also floated a theory as to why: Veronica skipped Tokyo Game Show this year, something no mainline Resident Evil game has ever done. They reckon Capcom may have made late changes to the game’s scope, pushing the timeline back further than planned. Fair enough, really. Game dev doesn’t exactly run on schedule.

One fan asked whether the delay ties into rumours that Albert Wesker’s voice actor was dropped from the project. Dusk Golem admitted they don’t know either way, calling it “pure speculation” but not a bad theory.

Worth remembering: Capcom never gave Veronica an official release date, so calling this a “delay” is a bit loose. You can’t miss a date that was never set. Still, if the game slides to Fall 2027 instead of arriving early, that’s a meaningful shift for anyone circling next year’s release calendar.

Either way, as long as Veronica shows up sometime in 2027, I’m not going to complain too loudly.
