The wait is nearly over. Ubisoft has officially confirmed that Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced will launch on 9th July 2026, with the announcement coming straight from the game’s dedicated showcase broadcast.
What we know about Resynced
The showcase shed further light on a project that had already been making waves ahead of its official reveal. Originally slated for an April unveiling, Ubisoft pushed the announcement back before finally pulling the curtain this week, giving media and content creators a roughly 30-minute look at what’s in store.

And there’s quite a bit to unpack. The remake won’t include DLC or multiplayer, keeping things focused on the core experience. Combat has been reworked to feel more action-oriented, and tailing missions, a divisive staple of the original, have been revamped. The Animus itself has also been rebuilt, introducing new content alongside the familiar framework.
One headline detail that’ll excite long-time fans: Edward Kenway’s original voice actor is returning to reprise the role. For those who grew up with Black Flag, that’s a genuine touch of authenticity. A Collector’s Edition is also confirmed, with pricing now available for those keen to go all out.

A legendary game, modernised
Black Flag remains one of the most beloved entries in the entire Assassin’s Creed series, and Resynced looks set to bring it to a new generation without losing what made it special. 9th July can’t come soon enough.
