Sony has pulled back the curtain on the PlayStation Plus Essential free games for May 2026, and there’s a big name leading the charge.
Announced via the PlayStation Blog, the new lineup goes live on 5th May and includes three titles across PS5 and PS4. Here’s what’s dropping:
- EA Sports FC 26 (PS5/PS4)
- Wuchang: Fallen Feathers (PS5)
- Nine Sols (PS5/PS4)
Something for Everyone
EA Sports FC 26 is the obvious headline act, one of the best-selling sports franchises on the planet, and it’s landing in the monthly lineup just months after release. PS Plus members will also be able to grab the EA Sports FC 26 PlayStation Plus Icons Pack, a free add-on claimable while the game remains in the collection.
Beyond football, there’s plenty to dig into. Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is a soulslike action RPG that’s been turning heads, while Nine Sols brings a beautifully hand-drawn action-platformer to the table. Genuinely a varied set of picks.

What about extra and premium?
The Essential tier is sorted, but PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers will have to sit tight. The Game Catalog and Classics Catalog additions for May will be announced separately later in the month.
Worth noting, seven games are also leaving the PS Plus library in May, so check what’s being removed before it’s too late.
