Miami gets a giant GTA 6 Vice City sign on its NBA arena

Rockstar has slapped a massive "Welcome to Vice City" sign on Miami's Kaseya Center, and it's just the start of GTA 6's marketing takeover.

Rockstar just turned an entire NBA arena into a GTA 6 billboard, and I reckon this is only the opening shot.

A CBS News chopper caught workers building a huge “Welcome to Vice City” sign on top of the Kaseya Center in downtown Miami, home to the Miami Heat and a venue that holds nearly 20,000 people. It’s not some small banner tucked away either. It takes up a serious chunk of the roof, in a spot flown over constantly and now filmed by a local news crew, guaranteeing the story travels.

Miami commissioners had to approve it first

This wasn’t as simple as Rockstar hanging a sign wherever it liked. Miami commissioners had to vote to let a private company display banners bigger than the city normally allows, and Take-Two presumably paid a hefty fee for the privilege. That’s the kind of budget line that tells you how seriously Rockstar is taking this rollout.

And this is probably just the beginning. I wouldn’t be surprised to see fake Sprunk ads pop up next, or even actual Cluckin’ Bell and Burger Shot takeovers of real fast food spots. Rockstar doesn’t strictly need any of this. GTA 6 will sell regardless. But going this big means the story gets picked up by mainstream outlets like CBS, reaching people who’d never have seen a trailer otherwise.

GTA 6 launches on 19 November, and Miami’s about to get a lot weirder before then.
