Ubisoft’s remake of the beloved pirate epic has a release date, and it’s closer than you might think.
It’s been revealed that Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced, the full remake of the 2013 classic, will launch on 9th July 2026. The date comes ahead of an official announcement, which Ubisoft has pushed back to next week despite originally planning to pull the curtain on 16th April.
What we know so far about Black Flag Resynced
Media and content creators were treated to a roughly 30-minute presentation of the game earlier today, and by all accounts, it sounds like a serious overhaul. The game has been completely reworked with a host of new content and updates, though specific details are being kept under wraps for now.

One thing the presentation made crystal clear, however: Black Flag Resynced is not an RPG. “This remains a solo adventure and character-driven experience. It is not an RPG,” the presentation stated outright. Given how the franchise has shifted in recent years towards sprawling, choice-driven RPGs, that’s a deliberate and noteworthy stance, and one that’ll likely be music to the ears of fans who’ve been craving a return to the series’ more focused roots.
A statue, too
That leaked Kenway statue that surfaced around the game’s original reveal window? It’s confirmed and still happening, so collectors will want to keep an eye out.
With the official announcement due next week, expect a full breakdown of what Resynced actually brings to the table very soon.
