Xiaomi Watch S5 41mm Brings Bright AMOLED Display and Long Battery Life

Xiaomi has added a new smaller smartwatch to its Watch S5 family. The new Xiaomi Watch S5 41mm is designed for people who want a more compact watch without giving up important features such as a bright AMOLED screen, GPS and long battery life.

The new model comes around six months after the original Watch S5, which has a larger 46mm case. Xiaomi has not yet confirmed whether the smaller version will be sold outside China.

Xiaomi Watch S5 41mm gets a bright AMOLED display

The Xiaomi Watch S5 41mm has a 1.32-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 466 × 466 pixels. One of its main features is its peak brightness of 3,000 nits.

This high brightness should make the screen easier to see outdoors, especially under strong sunlight. The smaller case also makes the watch a more compact option compared with the 46mm Watch S5.

The watch comes with built-in GPS, so users can track outdoor activities without relying completely on their phone. It also works with both Android and iOS devices, giving users more flexibility when choosing a smartphone.

Up to 14 days of battery life

Xiaomi has fitted the Watch S5 41mm with a 590 mAh battery. The company claims that it can provide up to 14 days of battery life on a single charge.

Actual battery life will depend on how the watch is used. Features such as GPS tracking, health monitoring, notifications and other active functions can reduce the time between charges.

The Xiaomi Watch S5 41mm is available in Black, Sea Salt Blue and Taro Purple. Prices start at CNY 1,299, which is around $195. A Ceramic White version is also available for CNY 1,499, or about $225.

Xiaomi has also announced a larger 47mm Watch S5 Transparent Edition. For now, however, the Xiaomi Watch S5 41mm has only been confirmed for the Chinese market. The company has not shared details about a global launch or international pricing.

With its smaller size, 3,000-nit AMOLED display, built-in GPS and claimed 14-day battery life, the new model gives Xiaomi’s Watch S5 series another size option for smartwatch users.
