If you’re still waiting to play 007 First Light on your Switch 2, the wait might be almost over, and it looks like a retailer beat IO Interactive to the announcement.
007 First Light – Nintendo Switch 2 announcement trailer
007 First Light landed on other platforms back on 27 May, but Switch 2 owners have been left kicking their heels since. Now an Amazon Japan listing has quietly given the game away, showing a release date of 16 September for the Switch 2 version. Spotted by users on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit, there’s no obvious reason to doubt it, given Amazon doesn’t tend to post dates for a laugh.

A packed September for Switch 2 owners
That date drops the Bond spy thriller into a genuinely stacked week. It lands a day after Marvel’s Wolverine hits PS5, a few days ahead of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight on Switch 2, and 12 days after Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Good luck to anyone’s wallet trying to keep up.
With Amazon Japan already live with the date, an official confirmation from IO Interactive surely can’t be far behind. Somebody’s got some explaining to do about jumping the gun.
