It’s been a quieter year for announcements, until now. Sony’s June 2 State of Play flipped the switch in a big way, running longer than usual and delivering a summer slate that’ll keep players busy well into 2027. Here’s everything that was shown.

State of Play broadcast

Sony’s own

  • God of War Laufey – The next God of War is official. You play as Faye, Kratos’ late wife, navigating the Everywhen, the afterlife realm of the gods. Twenty minutes of footage was shown, mixing the speed of the Greek era with the weight of the Norse games. No release date yet, but 2027 is the working assumption.
  • Marvel’s Wolverine – Insomniac’s Wolverine got a meaty gameplay showcase. Highlights included motorcycle riding, Jean Grey using telekinesis, a Sabretooth encounter, and combat that looks every bit as savage as you’d hope.

Everything else announced at State of Play

  • Phantom Blade Zero – Fresh trailer with new locations and enemies. More details coming this summer ahead of its October 29 launch.
  • Dune: Awakening – Arriving on consoles September 22, with a newly announced single-player mode alongside the existing survival experience.
  • Control Resonant – Remedy’s follow-up gets a September 24 release date and a story trailer set across a twisted version of Manhattan.
  • Silent Hill: Townfall – Also confirmed for September 24.
  • Onimusha: Way of the Sword – Capcom’s revived series launches September 25. A free demo dropped during the show.
  • Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls – Magneto, Carnage, and Green Goblin are all in at launch.
  • Rayman Legends Retold – A full 3D remake of the Ubisoft platformer, out October 1.
  • Dynasty Warriors 3 Complete Edition Remastered – The PS2 classic gets a proper remaster on October 1, across PC and consoles.
  • Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve – Takes off October 2.
  • No Rest for the Wicked – Version 1.0 confirmed for PS5 and PC this October. Xbox and Switch 2 players will have to wait.

  • Kemuri: Hunt the Unseen – A stylised city action game built around 3-player co-op. Due 2027.

Small but worthy

  • Bancho The Chef – From Mintrocket, the studio behind Dave the Diver. Looks to bring the same quirky precision to cooking.
